A Life Full of Tasks

Each one of us gets married to a plethora of tasks in our short lived life.
So many of them that we almost get aligned to thousand different things under the title “ To be Done”
I wonder what about going reverse, how many tasks do we actually need to survive as a human. As an infant we are do not have many tasks. So when we are small little kiddies we have the liberty to do anything, because our mom takes care of the food, bath and even changing diapers.
But as we grow up our tasks line up to be a human. We have to eat food, which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. We have to go to toilet when our body gives us alarm. We have to take a bath everyday. We have to cut our nails every month. We have to cut our hair when they grow badly. We have to brush our teeth everyday.
As we grow, we carry these tasks are added more and more we have to shave (for girls they have to wax their legs) we have to wear clothes….and so on.
As cultures change these tasks vary as age changes many tasks get added many get subtracted. Also when you are a part of a society you have certain tasks.
After some time these tasks become our responsibilities. Like cooking food for your survival, taking care of your parents ….more and more tasks are added.
So finally so many things add up in our To Do list that most of these things become invisible.
Like when was the last time you discussed with your friends about how you brushed.
But with the plethora of tasks which we keep adding to our survival we somewhere lose the concept of our self will.
We work to feed ourselves first then to feed our family. At work again we get another set of tasks. Many times we don’t define the task, it comes given to us via social acceptance or via our personal acceptance, or sometimes due to sheer responsibility and dependency.
But what makes each one of us distinct is the way we do our tasks. The order of things in which we do our tasks. Like I may be brushing teeth in my own way and which may be much different than several others. This I think slowly puts our will or our identity inside the action that we perform.
So when we do a task in workplace we do it in our own way. But yeah sometimes we also follow set patterns to do the same. Sometimes though we find out our own little ways to do things, when we are introduced new things to do then we either learn how to do them or try to do them in our own little way.
Along with our existing tasks we tend to always keep searching for new tasks.
So when I was in school I had few tasks which I had to do….like go to school at a particular time, do our home work.
With so much defined lifestyle of ours many times the scope or the need to do things beyond our tasks i.e. to invent new tasks or new ways to do tasks. Sometimes we add few tasks to make us happy. Such a task is then called a hobby.
So among many tasks in our lives we add to a certain task saying whenever I do X I feel happy hence I will do X since today.
This state is more or less doing a task more willfully as compared to bestowed upon social task.

So when I do a will full task, a task that I feel from within an urge to do, my body state becomes stable or more of likes the situation.
When someone else tells me a particular task I have to do it, many times the desire or inventive methodology to do the task is avoided. Like we ask questions like“How to do this?”, “ I have not done this before” such kind of approach then makes the task a
‘do and throw’ task, i.e. doing the task for the sake of completion of the task.
Certain human values and cultures have brought the emergence of such tasks with obedience and discipline. In such ways it puts a forceful method to push our mental organs to do the tasks.

What happens when you get the freedom to break the drudgery of task?
When you can choose what task we want to do, if possible create a new task or even a new method to do a task. Well such situations are similar to dreams.
While in dreams we don’t have a task list.
And also in vacations, or holidays. Such task free days are looked for more often by us.
How many of us hate “Sundays”?
Well if we have a task of our choice on a Sunday we would hate the idea of a holiday on a Sunday. For example if Sunday is a day when I get paid, I would never hate Sundays.

This complex plethora of tasks when reduced we get more time. I.e. we get more free task less time. But this allows us to do more tasks of our will. Tasks which make us happy
Hence such jobs where minimum work and maximum pay exists are considered best.
Like I wuld love to get paid to write such blogs.
But then there comes a time when repetition kills.
At times it is a necessity we cant help it. Like I have been gng to the loo for last 24 years
Tasks like these cant be escaped. U have to do them. They are basic requirements of our body. Similarly man has invented tasks which are basic requirements for living.
Like locking doors is a task which we al have to do for security. Or even drinking water.
When our work tasks become a basic requirement we don’t think much. We just do it. But when we have the freedom to do what we want we go ahead and don’t think of basic requirement. The very concept of free thght makes a task look feeble.
So “To Do” is a big thing in our lives. Imagine the number of tasks we have done since the time we are born…..or the number of tasks we have repeated since we are born…..the list is endless
It’s a task filled world.
