Are u willing to do it?

Will: is such an interesting concept that we humans may have discovered or invented. It extends our existence to a new level by transcending our thoughts into an impact on the situations around us. Use too much of it and you are called self-centered narcissist use too little of it and you are labeled herd follower…But it is always existing in that deeper self of your conscience. It is a command given to your own self by you…or maybe it’s an affirmation to your own self or an expression of a decision made by you.
We do many tasks in our daily lives each one of them unique in its own way…there are many tasks that we should, could, or even must do at times….but then there are those that we want to do…the ones that are driven by our will. “Should” tasks are mostly social obligations derived out of societies or religious attributions mostly created by the “Others” for us to follow. “Could” tasks are abilities that we have and their possible actions that we could execute, but these need not be always aligned to our will, for example I could run for elections, but I don’t choose to. “Must” tasks are things that one cannot avoid, these may again be socially constructed like should tasks, but these are not optional sometimes due to situations or even at times due to physical limitations that we humans possess, say for example when have to buy something I must pay money. But again as I said earlier one type of task that supersedes all of the others are the WILLFUL tasks… these are ones that take the consent of the self and can over write any of the shoulds, coulds or even musts.
The will hence dominates our actions. Recently in an air journey I happened to be seated on an emergency window seat. Before take of flight attendants come over to take your consent for volunteering in case of emergency. Although this was not my first time hearing this briefing but the question they ask is a very beautiful example of will ful tasks. They ask us “are you ready, willing, and able to assist in the event of an emergency?”
Mark the words Ready, Willing and Able….these are tasks in couldand willing space where if a person could do a task is he ready to do that task and over that he is willfully agreeing to do that task.
Willful interactions not only define how we interact with the world, but also how we impact it with our own decisions. These are clearly ours…we own our will and hence perhaps any willful destruction or creation is completely attributed to us. Many times in our lives we do willful tasks that we do not showcase as the same. This may be due to the insufficient belief in our will. Now wait a second how can we will if we don’t have belief in it? Well yes we can…we do believe it in real sense but in social norms we fear that expression of such a will may not be accepted or appreciated. And this clearly shows that will is the most powerful of the emotions internally however if there is a power big enough to scare a will from happening it is the society. In short it’s a constant battle between the wills and the should/ must.  But in a way it also protects societies to disallow merely willful tasks that can and do harm other individuals.
In the Hollywood movie “Bruce almighty” God gives all his powers to Jim Carreys character, but warns him about one thing…you cannot control anyone’s Free Will. Because that is one thing we truly own and that is the same thing that makes or breaks our identity in this magical thing called life.
